If you are looking for a city-slicker holiday or you simply want to embrace the capital of the United Kingdom, see if all the films live up to the standard, whether that be Nottinghill or It’s a Sin. London, you’ll find, is way beyond the films and tourist attractions but in fact, it has so much to offer and is just waiting for you to discover it.

Saint Dunstan in East London
Both beauty and history are with Saint Dunstan. It is essentially a mediaeval church dating back to the 11th or 12th century but has been updated and refurbished many times during its creation but all of that effort was put to waste when it was partially destroyed in WWII and left as it was after that. But fast forward to modern times and beautiful shrubbery, trees and all sorts of life have covered the once holy walls and it’s been transformed into a public garden for individuals who want to sight, gaze and maybe take up some people-watching time.
Little Venice in Hyde Park
This series of tree-lined canals got its name rightly so, although it’s not as unique as Venice, of course, it has a similar charm to it and is gorgeous in every single season. It is the length of Hyde Park to Warwick Avenue, so it could be used as a path while you venture to other sites or a good place to regroup when exploring shops, cafes and restaurants around you.
If you like to be on the water, that’s also a choice. There are canal boats that offer afternoon tea and boat ride tours for you to pass the time and just watch the world of London go by. If you are driving, there are Hyde Park parking options, or you can simply stroll your way over. I’d recommend starting at Hyde Park!
The Vaults or Waterloo Vaults
These are some of the coolest tunnels you’ll ever see in London underground. It’s a fascinating place and a great experience for those who are art lovers. It is located underneath Waterloo Station in central London so it’s the perfect opportunity to check it out. You could come back a month later and there would be something new and exciting to see.
The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town
If you are looking for an exciting hidden bar, then you have to give this one a go before it’s no longer a hidden gem. Finding these one-of-a-kind exclusive bars is hard but that’s all part of the fun. You might have passed 3 on your way to Scardey Cat and not known. While we are in such a digital age, it’s hard to keep anything secret for longer than five minutes, so take your opportunity while in this huge city to go explore and find new places that aren’t on the mainstream.
Final Thoughts
For something to be classified as a hidden gem, it has to be in fact hidden so I would always recommend that you have a few places on your list to visit but for the rest of the time, try meeting new people, asking them about their favourite spots and exploring for yourself. tempo traveller hire
